Interest in the problematics of standardization in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is driven by an intensive development of this power industry branch and a lack of complex representations of the domestic national standardization base in the field of LNG. The development of effective import phase-out ways requires additional attention to standardizing LNG production, storage, transport and consumption facilities. The article analyses the LNG standardization practice in international, foreign, domestic, national and corporate systems. Different approaches to standardization in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and Russia are presented. The authors arrive at a conclusion that it is necessary to develop a set of interrelated nationwide standards for process equipment, design, construction, operation, diagnostics and repair of various LNG industrial facilities.
