One of the reasons that impede the extraction of highly viscous oils in steam injection wells in terms of sand manifestations is the deformation of the anti-sand composite filters. The use of thermal compensators as part of the downhole equipment allows improving the efficiency of filters in these conditions. The use of thermal compensators in horizontal wells has certain features that must be considered when designing their locations along the length of the well to prevent deformation of the casing of composite filters from axial thermal stresses. A method for designing the locations of thermal compensators to prevent deformation of composite filters in horizontal wells of steam wells is proposed.
