Farit A. Agmazov

Farit A. Agmazov was born on November 28, 1947, in the Village of Chekmagushevo of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in an official's family. From 1954 to 1965 he studied at the Nikolo-Berezovka Secondary School that he finished with a silver medal. In 1965–1970 he studied at the Ufa Petroleum Institute (UPI, now – USPTU (Ufa State Petroleum Technological University)) that he finished with honors.
He was admitted to the full-time postgraduate course of UPI after work as a Senior Engineer of the research and development sector. He continued a scientific and teaching activity at the same university (hereinafter referred to as the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University) after being graduated from the postgraduate course and after defense of the Candidate's Dissertation in 1974. He worked as a Senior Teacher, from 1980 – as an Associate Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Wells Drilling; from 1992 – Professor of this Department. At the same time from 1993 – the Dean of the Mining and Oil Faculty, from 1999 – the Head of the Department of Oil and Gas Wells Drilling. In 1990, he defended the Doctoral Dissertation.
The range of areas of expertise covers the issues of increase of case service period in corrosive media, gas well completion quality increase, use of a disintegrated technology during drilling and cementing of wells, development of special backfill materials and technologies of cementing.
He is the author of 65 inventions and patents and more than 160 published scientific papers (including a textbook, seven monographs, scientific subject surveys, articles in local and foreign editions). He participated in many international conferences, including conferences in neighboring countries and beyond.
He is an active member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Academy of Mining Sciences, a member of Scientific Councils and Dissertation Committees on Conferment of Academic Degrees of Doctors of Engineering. From 1999 to 2002, he was a member of the Council of Experts of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation (HAC RF).
He is engaged in educational work, lectures and teaches classes with students, postgraduates, students of the Faculty of Professional Skills Upgrading. He was invited to lecture in Cuba, Vietnam, China and in institutes of higher education of Kazakhstan.
He dedicates a lot of time to training of top-qualification specialists, being an advisor for postgraduates, seekers and doctoral candidates. About 20 Candidates and 2 Doctors of Engineering consulted and advised by him were prepared.
He has titles of honor: «Honored Worker of Science of the Republic of Bashkortostan» (1998) and «Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation» (2004), a prize winner of the All-Union Council of Scientific and Technical Societies (1975) and awarded with the Ural Mining Prize (1997), awarded with the Medal of Honor of the International Academy of Sciences of Nature and Society «In Recognition of Science Regeneration and Economy of Russia» (2004).
