Aleksandr N. Drozdov

Aleksandr N. Drozdov was born on September 22, 1954, in Moscow.
In 1979, he finished Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas with a specialization “Mining Engineer on Technology and System Mechanization of Development and Operation of Oil Fields”, in 1982 – the postgraduate course at the same university.
He holds position in Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas – Professor of the Department of Development and Operation of Oil Fields from 1999.
Professional activity: oil and gas production operator of Almentevneft (1977), well survey operator of Nizhnevartovskneft (1978); work at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas: Laboratory Assistant (1979), Junior Research Associate (1980–1987); Senior Research Associate (1987–1992); Associate Professor (1992–1999).
The Candidate's Dissertation “Development of methods of calculation of borehole pump characteristics for operation of wells with pump inlet low pressure”, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (1983); the Doctoral Dissertation “Development, study and results of industrial use of borehole pump and ejector systems for oil extraction”, Gubkin State Academy of Oil and Gas (1998).
An associate member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (2004).
He is the author of 150 scientific papers.
He lectures on the following disciplines: Oil and gas production technology; Fundamentals of oil and gas field engineering; Development and operation of oil fields; Technology and technique of oil production by borehole pumps under abnormal operating conditions.
Head of Smena Research and Educational Center.
He prepared 10 Candidates of Science.
The winner of the prize of the Government of RF in science and engineering (1997) and the Gubkin prize (2005).
