Igor T. MishchenkoIgor T. Mishchenko was born on July 30, 1937, in Ufa.
In 1961, finished the Ufa Petroleum Institute (UPI) with a specialization in “Technology and Complex Mechanization of the Oil and Gas Fields Development”, in 1965 – the postgraduate course of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.
He holds position in Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas – Deputy Head of the Department of Development and Operation of Oil Fields from 1988, Dean of the Faculty of Development of Oil and Gas Fields from 1989.
Professional activity: Assistant Geophysicist of the Ishimbay Production Geophysical Base (1956); Junior Research Assistant, Assistant, Senior Teacher of UPI (1961–1967); at Gubkin State Oil and Gas University – Senior Teacher, Associate Professor, Professor (from 1967). He lectured in Romania (1965–1966), Algeria (1970–1974), Norway (2002–2004).
The Candidate's Dissertation “Peculiarities of Operation of Borehole Electric Pumps with Multicomponent Mixtures”, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (1965); the Doctoral Dissertation “Theory and Practice of Artificial-Lift Well Operation with Viscous Multiphase Fluids”, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (1984).
An academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences; the Vice-Chairman of the Council of Experts of HAC of USSR and RF on the Issues of Oil and Gas (1987–2007); a member of the Presidium and the Administrative Board of the Scientific and Technical Society of Oil and Gas Industry Workers (from 1981); the Scientific and Technical Council of Gazprom OJSC (from 2004); Research Councils on Oil and Gas of RF Committee for Science and Technology (from 1987), on the Issues of Oil and Gas under the Presidium of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (from 1996), the Oil and Gas Institute of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (from 1990); a member and the Chairman of the Dissertation Committee (from 1985); the Editor-in-Chief of “Oil, Gas and Business” journal (from 1994); a member of the editorial board of “Petroleum Engineering” (from 1998) and “Oil and gas” (from 2002).
He is the author of more than 300 scientific papers, including more than 40 monographs.
He lectures on the following disciplines: Borehole oil production; Peculiarities of development of oil fields with hard to recover reserves; Physical-chemical properties of oil and gas.
Prepared 42 Candidates of Science and was a Scientific Consultant of 7 Doctoral Dissertations. He heads the educational research school.
Honored Science Worker of RF (1998), the winner of the prize of the Government of RF in science and engineering (1998, 2010). He is awarded with medals “Labor Veteran” (1988), “In Memory of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow” (1997), a gold medal “Person of the Year” of the American Biographical Institute (1994, 1997), a large silver medal of the International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England (1994); the Gubkin Prize (1998, 2002, 2006), the Muravlenko Prize (2000), the Baybakov Prize (2004), Golden ROSING (2006), High Technology Star Prize (2007); a scholarship holder of the state scholarship of the President of RF (1994-1996, 2000-2002); an Honorary Worker of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of RF (1998). He has badges of honor “Inventor of USSR” (1982), “For excellence in work of the Ministry of Higher Education of USSR” (1997); “For merit to economics and science development” (1997); Honorary Oil Industry Worker of USSR (1990), Honorary Worker of the Higher Professional Education (2000).
