Mikhail A. Silin

Mikhail A. Silin was born on January 3, 1957, in Yegoryevsk, the Moscow Region.
In 1978, he finished Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas with a specialization “Chemical Engineer”.
Academic degree and academic rank: Candidate of Chemical Sciences – 1993; Doctor of Chemistry – 2005; an associate member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences for Oil and Gas – 2007; an active member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences for Oil and Gas, 2011.
1978–1979 – works as an operator, senior operator at Moscow Oil Refinery. From 1980 - present day – has been working at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in the positions: Engineer, Junior Research Assistant, Senior Research Associate, Lead Research Associate, Director of the Upstream Chemistry Institute, Senior Teacher, Associate Professor, from 2004 – Head of the Department of Technology of Chemical Substances for Oil and Gas Industry.
In 2008, he was appointed as the First Pro-Rector for Learning and Teaching of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas; in 2010 – the First Pro-Rector for Strategic Development of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas; in 2013 – the Pro-Rector for Innovative Activities and Development Commercialization.
The Vice-Chairman of the Academic Council of the University, the Vice-Chairman of the Dissertation Committee.
In 2001, he was awarded with the prize of the Government of RF in science and engineering for “Development and industrial introduction of fracking reagents and technologies” as the Head of the creative team.
He was on business in Afghanistan from 1984 to 1986. He is a combat veteran.
