(COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF EQUIPMENT FOR UTILIZATION OF FLASH GASES OF LIQUID HYDROCARBONS TO BE TREATED: A CASE STUDY OF THE BOOSTER COMPRESSOR STATIONS AT THE ORENBURG OIL, GAS AND CONDENSATE FIELD)
Currently, the Orenburg oil, gas and condensate field (Orenburg Oblast) is operated in the declining production mode, which inevitably increases the cost of recovery and transportation of hydrocarbons. The use of energy-efficient and reliable process equipment is especially important in this regard.
The article presents a comparative analysis of the equipment for utilization of flash gases of liquid hydrocarbons to be treated, using the example of booster compressor stations at the Orenburg oil, gas and condensate field. The authors list the main issues of concern arising in the treatment and transportation of hydrocarbons in fields with declining production. The types of equipment (powered compressors and ejectors) used to raise the pressure of flash gases for the purpose of their return to the process are presented.
The analysis resulted in adjustments to the initial engineering solutions of the “Reconstruction of booster compressor stations No. 1 and 2, Orenburg oil, gas and condensate field” investment project, and a task was set for design and survey works on “Reconstruction of booster compressor station No. 3, Orenburg oil, gas and condensate field”, which led to significant savings on the implementation of the above projects.
The described engineering and process solutions are cost-effective and applicable not only at compressor stations, but also at field gas production units.
