(COST EFFICIENCY OF APPLICATION AND WAYS TO COMMERCIALIZE THE INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUE AND EQUIPMENT FOR SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING OF MAGNETIZED ELEMENTS IN GAZPROM TRANSGAZ TOMSK LLC)
One of the challenges arising while in-line inspections are residual magnetization of main pipelines. This phenomenon makes it impossible to weld without prior demagnetization. To overcome this challenge specialists from Gazprom transgaz Tomsk LLC, PJSC Gazprom, and Tomsk Polytechnic University have developed and introduced innovative domestically-made specialized equipment – IST-201 welding current inverter. This device makes welding possible without prior demagnetization of main pipelines, thus bringing production process and economic benefits.
The article presents an analysis of the effect-forming factors of innovative technique and equipment for shielded metal arc welding of magnetized pipes using doublet rectangular current impulse on the example of Gazprom transgaz Tomsk LLC. The cost efficiency calculation method is used to compare the financial costs of welding works during main pipeline repair by conventional methods and IST-201 innovative equipment. Based on these results, we define the possibility and ways of scaling of the developed technique in Gazprom Group companies.
